The entire function of a 2 piece box comes down to how well the lid fits the base. Whether the lid telescopes down around the outside of the base or sits on an internal shoulder, that fit is doing all the work — there's no clip, hinge, or adhesive holding it closed. Too loose and the lid slides off easily or doesn't sit flush. Too tight and it's a fight to remove, which undercuts the clean, premium feel this format is supposed to deliver.
