A gravity dispenser box solves a specific retail problem: keeping a counter display full-looking and functional without a staff member restocking it every few minutes. Product is loaded from the rear or top of the box onto an internal slope, and as the front-facing item is taken, the next one slides down automatically to replace it. The display always presents a front-facing product, right up until it's actually empty.
The slope angle is the entire engineering problem. Too shallow and product doesn't advance reliably, especially as the box empties and there's less weight behind it pushing product forward. Too steep and items can slide too fast, jam against each other, or spill out the front opening. We size the slope angle to the actual product dimensions and weight — a box built for gum packets and one built for small liquor bottles need genuinely different slope geometry, not the same angle applied across every size.
How the Gravity Feed Actually Works
- The slope: An internal angled shelf or channel that product sits on, pitched steep enough to advance product but not so steep it causes jamming or spillage.
- The load point: Rear or top-loading, so restocking doesn't require removing the box from the counter or disturbing the front-facing display.
- The dispense opening: Sized to release one item at a time — usually at the bottom-front — without allowing the whole stack to spill forward at once.
- Product-specific tuning: Slope angle, opening size, and channel width all get set against the specific product's shape and weight before production.
Types
- Counter gravity dispenser: Compact format for checkout-area impulse items — gum, mints, energy shots, small spirits, lip care.
- Multi-channel dispenser: Multiple parallel slopes in one unit for displaying several SKUs or flavors side by side.
- Rear-load dispenser: Loading access from the back, letting staff restock without touching or disturbing the front customer-facing side.
- Flip-out/open dispenser: A front panel that opens for loading dry goods or bulk product, common in food service settings.
Materials & Finishes
Board options:
- Corrugated cardboard (B-flute standard) — the common construction for slope and load-bearing strength
- Kraft or white liner — for branding on the visible front and top surfaces
Finishing options:
- Full CMYK and Pantone-matched printing
- Digital or litho printing with protective coatings for counter-life durability
- Gloss or matte lamination, spot UV highlights

Why Choose Us
- Free design support — we size slope angle and opening dimensions to your specific product before your quote is finalized, since a generic slope doesn't reliably feed every product shape
- No die or plate charges — custom compartment and slope geometry without setup fees
- Low minimum order quantities — test the feed mechanism before committing to a full retail rollout
- Samples available — load and test the actual feed action with your product before ordering at volume
FAQs
Why isn't my product sliding forward reliably? Almost always a slope angle mismatched to the product's weight and shape — too shallow doesn't advance product as the box empties, too steep causes jamming. We set this based on your specific product before production.
Can this be loaded without removing it from the counter? Yes, if built as a rear-loading design — restocking happens from the back without disturbing the front-facing display or removing the unit.
Can a gravity dispenser hold more than one product type? Yes — a multi-channel design uses multiple parallel slopes in one unit, letting you display several SKUs or flavors side by side.
Is corrugated strong enough for this construction? Yes, when sized correctly — B-flute corrugated is standard and handles the load-bearing needs of most counter dispenser applications.
Is there a minimum order quantity? We offer low minimum order quantities so you can test the feed mechanism before scaling to a full retail rollout.
Do you offer eco-friendly gravity dispenser options? Yes — recyclable corrugated stock is standard across this product line.
